The Institute for Southern Studies asks us to join Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, United for Peace and Justice, Veterans for Peace, and others in the Campaign to STOP THE WAR PROFITEERS AND END THE CORPORATE INVASION OF IRAQ. I recently had myself counted as one of the "others" in this campaign. What about you? Let's get this petition filled and also pass the link around so others will know it's available for their signatures.
Let's keep in mind that real names lawfully signed are essential. Anything else will probably not be counted, including the rare smart-ass remarks posted by those opposing the petition... Then again, I've wondered if bothersome opposers that sign a petition just to criticize it and its supporters end up getting counted as being "for" it, instead of "against" it.
I suspect, it's only for U.S. citizens. However, if you're a member of another nation, you are free to also create your own petition, especially if your own country's troops have been used in this war. If you live in a country where the Bushies have used bullying tactics or other unethical means to pressure the leaders of your country to support them in this war and to support Bush's cowardly efforts to avoid being tried as a war criminal (and indeed, he is a war criminal) than feel free to petition the United Nations of petitioning your own government is not done, or ineffective.
