American Politics & U.S. Troops in Iraq

Howard Dean and any other Democrat candidate that insists our troops must remain in Iraq need to raise their awareness to understand why our troops need to come home. Howard Dean assumes that by pulling our troops out of Iraq, we'll be abandoning the Iraqi people that don't want our troops there.

Keeping our troops in Iraq is just as foolish as it was for the French to keep their troops in Vietnam. The French got their asses kicked over there, then duped the U.S. government into sending our troops to that country. Why did the French get slaughtered? Because they occupied Vietnam and their presence was unwanted, just like the presence of Americans was also unwanted which cost tens-of thousands of American lives...Something those of you that support unpopular U.S. troop occupation of Iraq need to seriously think about.

The longer U.S. troops remain in Iraq, the greater anti-American hostilities will grow. As that resentment increases, we'll get a lot more of what it has been causing death on both sides, much like what happened in Vietnam.

Iraqis don't want our troops there. That's the way it is, like it, or not. The Pentagon and other military brass made our troops do very bad things that made even the most U.S. supportive Iraqis think twice about seeing Americans as their heroes. Add this fact to the realization that outsiders have entered the country to attack our troops (Probably what Donald Rumsfeld had in mind when he announced to the press last year that the Bush regime's plans included instigating situations to smoke out the "hornets nests of terrorists." They've apparently invited them to duke it out with our troops in Iraq. ) The longer our troops remain, the more the mutual violence between them and Iraqis, as well as, those pesky outside forces and Saddam loyalists will continue.

The following links provide information to explain this and more reasons why our troops must come home and the U.N. must be allowed to help Iraqis establish democracy, their own media (not U.S. controlled), and their economy without interference from greedy corporations from the U.S.A. or any other nations so that unemployment rate will drop below more than 50% and peace will be restored in Iraq:

500 U.S. soldiers dead as of Jan. 19, 2004. The longer they stay, the more this death toll will rise. But Howard Dean agrees with George W. Bush that our troops must remain.

Suicide rate of soldiers rising: meanwhile, troops that came home for care must wait for medical treatment. But reports like these won't convince those that believe we need to keep our troops there that the longer they stay, the more tragic this situation will get.

The relatives and many other Americans have a long list of reasons why they want their loved ones (the troops) to return home ALIVE and IN ONE PIECE WITH NO BODY PARTS MISSING!

Not enough to provide a convincing argument? That's okay, there's more for those that are willing to read more than that crap printed on "short, sweet and incomplete" newspapers and glossies. Check out Occupation Watch and also Iraqi Aftermath: The Human Face of War. Be sure to get a gander at what Iraqis are saying about this occupation and the rest of America's presence in that country. After all, we Americans really need to break the habit of depending on Americans to learn what people in the world think. A dandy idea here, but why not go to the people of that country to get their first hand perspective, instead? Woven through various topics are points made by Iraqis that Americans need to know about our military's presence there and how it affects their lives:
