To the Democrats: Attract Progressives and Win, or Try for Conservatives and Lose

I'm a progressive. I used to be registered Democrat, but in 1995, I switched to become a registered Independent, just as I had wanted to during the early 1980's after I was old enough to register to vote. Back then, my only option was Democrat or Republican. I reluctantly and resentfully chose the lesser evil (Democrat).

I was of the mind that Republicans are all for the rich. They're anally retentive control freaks that are against any freedom outside the boundaries of their uptight, socially and religiously controlled ways. I saw and still see Republicans as being determined to undermine the poor, impoverish more people to oppress and suppress, while profiting from our labors and consumerism. Their wealthy and elite friends, political allies and relatives profit while we lose.

Democrats need not gloat over this. I saw the Democrat party as painfully overpopulated by wishy-washy wimps and sell-outs. During visits with candidates, I'd ask questions and express my feelings, views and desires. The candidates were inclined to tell me anything I wanted to hear, but their eyes betrayed them enough that I knew they were lying to me. The ones that were elected proved that my instincts were dead-on. Many Democrats will sell us out as quickly as Republicans. The difference is, Republicans are more blunt about it, whereas, the Democrats try to be sneaky with the underhanded deals they make with corporate and other elite lobbyists.

I'm not finished, folks, because there's more...

The Democrat party has been on a self-destructive streak for decades and it's getting worse. There would have been no need for Ralph Nader to run against the Democrat Presidential candidate during the last major election had this party better represented the people. Instead, only a minority within this party has best represented us and their state constituents. That is why Americans like me favored Ralph Nader.

The Democrat Leadership Council is badly represented by pro-corporate sell-outs partially responsible for this party's weak state. Yes, they whine and sniffle as they blame Nader for what happened during the last major election. Evidently, it's easier to blame an outside force instead of taking personal responsibility for giving we progressive voters every reason to turn our backs on this party. Democrats like Al From, Sen. Joe Lieberman and many others sold us out long ago and never stopped doing it. We've known this for years. Ralph Nader gave us a glimmer of hope while also giving us a way to send the Democrat party a powerful message:

Get your acts together and represent US, NOT elite minority lobbyists! Sadly, the sell-out Dems and the spineless wimps in the party failed to get the drift. They are evidently too stupid to understand such a blatent message? Obviously, they are. From and Coons of the DLC had the gall to put an ad in the Wall Street Journal where they begged for corporate campaign donations to counter the progressives that can save the party from losing votes to Nader, or another non-Democrat candidate. They showed their true colors, as well as, their stupidity.

After discussing at great length with registered Democrats in need of understanding that, 1. Nader and the Greens DID NOT LURE US, we walked away, 2. Gore really was a sorry candidate to go up against Bush in our opinion, 3. Gore did win the election, so the crybabies in the Democrat party need to stop blaming Nader and the Greens and place blame on the people that violated our Democratic process when they committed acts of voting fraud, 4. If Democrats want us progressives to return to the party and other progressives to support the party, Lieberman and company will need to step aside, shut up and follow our lead, beginning with supporting progressive candidates within the party.

We've watched Lieberman trail after Bush with his snout up a very smelly and intimate part of Bush's hind quarters. How can we respect a brown nose to the opposition? How can we respect the others that rolled over and helped Bush & Company to erode our civil liberties, deceive the American people and the world in their push for unwarrented war, and participate in a long list of other attacks on the best America ever had and had to offer? We cannot stand behind these people. They betray us. They also betray every registered Democrat that actually believes the party is fighting on our behalf. These people MUST GO! They MUST make room for progressives and do so gracefully. If they do not, the party will continue to grow weak until there's nothing left to it. If they refuse and stubbornly stick with their anti-progressive fight, there's a strong chance that, if Dennis Kucinich doesn't win and we don't like the guy that did, should Ralph Nader run again, we'll be campaiging for him and casting our vote in his name.

Should matters get to that, registered Democrats, from the modest voters, to the politicians (elected, or not) need to place blame where it belongs... We'll offer a long list of names to clue the clueless in on who's really at fault.

That kind of fate can be avoided. I am temporarily switching back to the Democrat party simply to vote for Kucinich during the primaries. If he wins, I'll vote for him during the major election. However, if I remain with the party, it will only be under the condition that major changes will be made. It means, pro-corporate lawmakers inclined to sell out the American people will not have our support in any way, shape or form. No wonder why they're scared and doing some fast anti-progressive talking. They enjoy the insider trading (using Congressional voting to gain profits with market investments), working out deals with corporate pals that donate to their campaigns and later lobby for special favors that requires foresaking the needs, rights and desires of We, The People. We progressives are returning to the Democrat party with a vengence. Run, sell out cowards! Run!

Check out Kucinich's official campaign website and his Web Log for more information and to understand why I support this candidate. I realize, Dean is a popular candidate, but I have issues with some of his ideals and ties (coughmicrosoft). I also realize that John Kerry is popular with some voters, but like G.W. Bush, his daddy, relatives of Cheney, and a long list of others, Kerry is a Skull & Bones man. (Skull and Bones is an extremely secretive fraternal society based at Yale University where a small number of members born to powerful and elite families are tapped for membership each April. One objective to this society is to network for power and increased wealth.)
